Three of my favorites. Coffee + chocolate + ice cream. All in one. Ta da!!!!
Java Chip Ice Cream
- 1 c. whole milk, chilled
- 3/4 c. granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp. instant espressos or coffee
- 2 c. heavy cream, chilled
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 4 oz. semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
In a medium bowl, use a whisk to combine the milk, sugar, and espresso/coffee until the sugar and espresso/coffee are dissolved, about 2 minutes. Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla. Turn on your ice cream machine, and pour the mixture into the freezer bowl and let mix until thickened, about 25 minutes. In the last 5 minutes, add the chopped chocolate pieces. Enjoy right away, or let stand in the freezer in airtight containers for at least 2 hours to harden.
